Sports is not worship and worship is not sports. Take your football somewhere else and get it out from behind the pulpit.
God, I am so sick of the football analogy. One time I wanted to stand up, get a couple of hankies out of my purse to use as pompoms and start screaming like an idiot - "GOOOOOOO, Jesus!!!! GOOOOOO!!!!!!!!"
You know that episode on Happy Days where Richie Cunningham is getting ready for a free throw and it's really, really quiet? His mother shouts, "GOOO Richie!!!!"

Teach me something about Jesus and you will see worship. And that is not to say Jesus is not being taught in the Apostolic movement. He certainly is and there is excellent preaching, worship and commitment. I am only speaking to this one issue on the football analogy - clarifying for the negative people. LOL!

Great post!!
I've seen through the flaws of these analogies a long long time ago. Comparing how you act at a football game to how you should act in church is as flawed as saying "And if you moan with pleasure during sex how much MORE should moan in pleasure in your praise toward God during church!". Different reactions toward different life experiences.
"Here. Have a lifesaver."
