Re: Oneness Doctrine:Who Is Jesus Father?

I find it interesting to see how trinitarianism denies the omnipresence of God in defining it's own doctrine. If Jesus is not the Father according to trinitarianism, then Jesus cannot exist in the same point in space and time as the Father, thus making Him not omnipresent. In all the attacks on Oneness I have read, I have not seen someone point out this major fundamental flaw in the trinity theology.

Yeah, I can totally see how the Jews would want to kill Jesus for saying He had the same purpose as God the Father. That's a completely logical reaction.

They wanted to kill Jesus because they understood exactly what He was saying.

Amen! And there was no confusion about misunderstanding the language. They all were speaking in the same one. He got the exact same reaction from them when he said "before Abraham was I AM".

They were more aware of what Yeshua meant than many supposed Christians today!

Jesus, while he was on earth, was not omnipresent, or omniscient, etc.

See Philippians 2; Mat. 24:36; John 5:30-32

So Jesus said the same thing a few chapters later, you cannot give it the same meaning, if so the Disciples were only one person.

Re: Oneness Doctrine:Who Is Jesus Father?

Trinity = word not found in the Bible

Oneness = word not found in the Bible

Pride = found in both camps and condemned in the Bible

It's the height of arrogance to pretend to have God figured out. Both camps believe in One God. Very few Trinitarians would say they believe in three gods, or that in heaven there will be three gods. Very few Oneness folks would say that there is no difference whatsoever between the Father and the Son or the Holy Spirit.

Oneness defined is "unity". This is what Trinitarians believe. Ultimately anything or anyone who denies the Lordship of Jesus Christ is outside of the Body of Christ. I am uncomfortable with traditional Trinitarian language, but I'm also uncomfortable with some Oneness descriptives as well.

There is no denying that God is absolutely one. Yet I can also admit that there is obviously a relationship that Jesus had with the Father when walking the earth, praying and speaking. He speaks of the Father and Holy Spirit as though they are other than himself. I don't fully claim to comprehend that but I can admit it's there without coming up with wild explanations to preserve my theology of God being one.

There are difficult passages for both sides. For Oneness folks Jesus praying to the Father, speaking of the Father as though He is separate from Him, the Epistles talking about "peace with God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ". These are anomalies to the Oneness paradigm. And I can admit they are anomalies without believing in three gods or denying that God is one.

We are arguing things that most, ordinary, garden variety person doesn't ponder. We are answering questions people aren't asking. Do a community ad campaign that you are going to spend the next preaching/teaching series for two months on the Godhead and watch how few unbelievers will show up. Sinners don't care if God is one or if He's 100. They want to be free from sin, addictions, broken marriages healed, their kids saved from the mess the world is in, they are looking for hope and love. Tedious theological debates are for theologians and seasoned church folks. But these usually aren't the people reaching the masses.

Amen.
I think the confusion dies at
"There is no way to the Father but through Me."
The Father does not exist in space and time,
that is Christ's Realm. This doesn't mean
that God is not here, however.
