Really? You want me to look it up for you? Sigh. OK, here. The verse before the one cited:
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but
he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
And elsewhere (
Matthew 25) Jesus says how he will separate the sheep and the goats. It's their works. Those who don't feed the hungry, visit prisoners, etc. will be cast into everlasting fire, for everlasting punishment.
