No Romney didn't. However, in politics, at times it is politically advantgeous to NOT follow all the rules. It was risky, but Romney appeared more assertive than Obama and he did so WITHOUT coming across as a arrogant cowboy with an ego the size of Texas.
I can tell you this much, had it been Perry vs Obama, Obama would be eating Perry alive because of the arrogance that seems to emanate from Perry and many other GOP'ers.
Romney and Cain are GOP candidates that know how to be assertive and at the same not arrogant. No doubt they have honed and perfected this skill throughout their business careers.
