You will have to do your homework even to find that. Neither the KJV or most other versions have it at all. You will find it in the New King James Version and Interlinears.

YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE WHO IS PRESENTLY THERE!

So who is there presently?

The dead in Christ!

Prove it?

Paul writing about the resurrection says:

1 Cor. 15:54-55

54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death where is your sting? O HADES where is your victory?

Yes the apostle taught that it is only at the resurrection we will have the victory over Hades. There is a false teaching called "immortal soul" that says when the Christian dies he goes straight into Heaven and he has victory over death and Hades.

Paul did not teach this. He told the Corinthians at the resurrection of the dead THEN they would have the victory over death and Hades.

Now you know the true meaning of Jesus words:

18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. Matt. 16:18

Hades will not be able to hold the saints who have died AT THE RESURRECTION!

It is then Paul testifies we will have the victory over it.
More evidence that the tradition view of hell, as a custom God built torture chamber is a myth.

Re: How many Times Does Paul Mention Hades?

So my friends any comment on what Paul taught the Corinthians? Why did he tell them that death and Hades would not be defeated until the resurrection? Why are Christians in Hades until then?

I thought the dead Christians were in Heaven? We see here they are in hades?

The normal teaching is that the immortal soul goes straight to Heaven at death and the body goes to the grave. Through this teaching they say we overcome death AT DEATH because we go to Heaven.

Paul never taught the Corinthians that but rather death and Hades will not be defeated until the resurrection. So Christians as well as sinners both go to Hades at death.
