Re: Dropped By & Somewhat Dismayed But Not Surpris

Look the plain fact of the matter is this, we do not know "ALL THE FACTS" & are relying on bits & pieces of info.
The Church in question (all members) the Minister involved & affected parties, are not hear to tell the whole story.
That is where it gets to be gossip & benefits no one.
MissBratified didn't answer nor do I expect her to.

Re: Dropped By & Somewhat Dismayed But Not Surpris

These things happen when you sit in judgement of the rest of Christianity and when people set up their own little kingdom based upon some man made teaching without giving a second thought about doctrine which is not perfect because nobody is 100 percent correct. The Apostolic holiness doctrine has driven many to the seat of self-righteous judgment and this will cause them to be judged in the manner in which they judged.

I know you have seen these for a very long time.

Timmy, this is a serious subject.
Sorry, yes I know it's serious. It's my (sometimes annoying) way, to try to lighten the discussion with a few little zingers, here and there. There is method to my madness, though. Truth behind the humor. E.g., it's really NOT a great idea to sweep things like this under the rug, and no, you didn't actually say that, but it's the impression I get from your posts. At least, as far as the "church" at large (i.e., members of internet forums) are concerned.

Why shouldn't a major failure be publicized, if it's not ended satisfactorily? My other post illustrates why it should be: if other churches don't know about it, the guy (if unrepentant and not, um, "delivered" from his problem) can just move from one church to another, speaking, pastoring, whatever. Or do you have a solution for that? (References may not work. Nobody would give a reference that wouldn't give a good report!)

Thanks Timmy, sorry but he is my first Pastor & while I am not hurting to the extent others that affected are, I am sad & hurting as well.
I am hurting at what I have read, true or untrue, I am sad.
I am sad for the people of this Church.
I am sad for people who may know him from past Ministry.
As for people, having someone preach for them not knowing about a minister?
The Bible says that we should know them that labour among you.
My Pastor & I know of Ministers that we know have things that are not right & they will not preach for us--period.
We will however not scream their transgressions from the rooftop, nor on Internet forums because it ain't Biblical & the Colateral damage will be too much to bear.
I put forth the Biblical meathod of dealing with offenses.

REALLY, Ron? All the years you posted with me and you've formed the opinion that I'm disingenuous? Or afraid to answer questions? My question deserves an answer, but you don't want to give it. By contrast, the answer to YOUR question is already copied and pasted and sitting in a document...but I'm not going to post it until you play fair.

By the way, you might want to actually READ through the original thread. Some of the men of God you mentioned in your first post POSTED in the Memphis thread, and they weren't taking TB's side in their posts (nor did they attack him). I hope you plan to blast them for participating in the thread as much as you blasted CC1 for starting it. In the interest of fairness, anyway....

Really MisBratified? I stand by my post & think the thread in question is in poor taste & serves no one but those who have an axe to grind.
You have a hypothetical question, my post is on reality.
Therein lies the difference.
I am not dodging nor evading & as for the men of God in question, I can disagree without slogging people.
CC1, I beleive had nothing both Biblically & personally to gain by posting the thread in question & I am sorry to say this but I also stand by the statement God is not impressed with the willful & careles slogging of Ministers---and that caution goes for me as well.

IS God impressed with the slogging of His sheep by pastors???

For those who do not know the facts <ahem> of the wayward Terry Black....please read "Insider"'s post of what really happened!!!! FACT IS....this person was a part of the meeting that took place! The day that the LIES, ILLICIT PICS, EMAILS, STEALING MONEY....etc of one poor pitiful Terry Black had asked his accusers to "destroy the evidence" , all of which was exposed!!!!! It did not take 24 hours to decide to do the crimes in question....WAKE UP....he was doing this for a LONNNNGGGGGG time!

Your experiences were good with the man. A lot of people can say the same thing. Your loyalty is the result of those good memories. There are others who were abused spiritually by this very person who had such a capacity for good. And there aren't just a few. There's quite a long list. For many I know these discussions have been healing and a vindication of what they believed was a man who, although worshiped by some, had gross hypocrisy in his own life and used his office and influenece to destroy people, alienate people and ostracize people---sometimes for offenses far less egregious than what surfaced to be his own. Happy for you and your warm fuzzies. There are many whose memories of him are less than fond.
