Scare tactics. I grew up with them. They are unmerited.

A guy was running from the cops t-boned her side of the car & drove her body into the trunk on top of her baby.
They buried them both in the same casket.
Today her husband is lost on drugs & a mess.
Wow! You really are old time Pentecost. Bringing out the scary story of the person or persons who dared talk bad about a preacher then got killed in horrible car accident.

You would have fit in good with the preachers of my Youth in the Deep South. Those stories were a staple of Sunday night services.

I am just shocked you would "gossip" about this poor dead woman in this way. She is not here to defend herself, etc. etc.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

CC1, you're slick.

According to some, it really doesn't matter, CC1....she wasn't a preacher, so it doesn't count!

Really, gossip is forbidden period, not just against ministry or fallen ministry. The problem is we want to protect ministry but fail to protect saints. All should have protection. Gossip is wrong whether it is against saints OR ministry.

If you can not see that, well, what can I say?
I will go with how the Bible says we are to act.
As for the congregation, if they truly are hurt in the matter, screaming it to everyone isn't going to change the situation & is unbiblical.
Does this mean that you think there is a possibility that the congregation wasn't hurt by this?

Need I provide more to debunk your hypothesis?
Somebody with common sense, thank you!

Yup, they sure do, & to some who mutter & complain about the man of God--it can happen sooner rather than later.
