Sir, if you and your wife have forgiven the Pastor and are still living for God. You are studying scripture for yourself, then you are doing well.
Paul was teaching about the custom of that particular area and time. The worldly ladies were arranging elaborate hairstyles with jewels entwined within them. That is what broidered meant. It still covered the head. But he was teaching for Godly women to keep their hairstyles simple, and not to do as was the customs of that time and place.
