Preaching against using anything other than the KJV and "other weird" things?
Lol. You call that weird?
Using the KJV is a smart thing to do.
And it's not only UPC preachers saying that.

Why would you say using KJV is the "smart" thing to do?

Why would I say that?
Some new bible translations are authorized by the liberal National Council of Churches. The unbelieving bias of the majority of the translators is evident in such readings as Isaiah 7:14:
One example:
"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold a young woman shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." (Revised Standard Version)
The difference between this reading and the way the verse reads in the King James Version is very important. The old Bible says that "a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son."
In some new translation Mary is a "good woman" not a virgin.
And of course there are other examples.

Got that....but, what about the fact that there were several earlier translations of the scriptures BEFORE the KJV? Wouldn't those be closer to the original manuscript?
What makes the KJV the ONLY God-authorized version?

I have never said that.
Those are your words.
I said it's smart to use the KJV and NOT the newer translations.
And I told you why.

No, you didn't say that....you said it was smart to use the KJV, but didn't clarify instead of the newer....
