All of the reasons you cited above, I would agree with as my explanation as well.

The court issue over the "hanging shad" was a mess and very stressful. People can say Bush cheated with that, but according to God in that prayer, years prior, God lays it down that GWB will be President.

I am with MTD here, and would only add - Don't listen to the mockers. God does speak to His people. It can be prophetic and can also be to calm us down, allowing us to know He is in control regardless of the outcome. It's not that we don't already know that, but sometimes He simply wants to remind us.

Not trying to be a 'mocker'.... I think the posting it here made it seem more like some kind of card trick to me.

I believe nearly ALL prophecies are the result of A) your brain trying to catalog memories from the day before and insert them between older ones and B) eating too much the night before.

Why aren't prophecies ever specific? "Such and such will happen to so and so on this day!"? Instead we ALWAYS have endless symbolism which is interpreted ANY way to make the current circumstances fit.

I'm sorry but with all the Benny Hinns and other weirdos too numerous to name I just don't go for obscure dreams with a 50/50 ratio of probability. I'd maybe bite for something really unusual/unknowable when/if it came to pass. Call me ye of little faith but I prefer to think of myself as she of common sense.

I don't like gifts of the spriit being used as party tricks whether it's sticking a microphone in someone's face while they are speaking in tongues, blowing on people to make them fall over, or trying to publically 'predict' future events. What is the purpose of posting on the internet that God may have told you who would win an election without even a godly candidate involved?

Just lame.... and I really, really, really like Jay or my words might have been stronger than that.

Oh yes I certainly do. Not that Im trying to reach a goal or something. Its just that when God does something "unusual" in my life, a prophetic dream, a leading of the spirit, or an answered prayer I do write it down.

The reason being two fold. I don't want to forget it. Israel sinned because they FORGOT the works of YHWH. They did not let it sink in just HOW CLOSE he was to them.

Also I can draw strength from them when needed. Say Im in a hard trial that tests my faith. I can look back and remember how gloriously he has manifested himself to me.

Maybe I have not had any specific manifestation of him for 6 months. I can sit down and read the things he has already done giving him thanks and praise being confident that what he has done he will do again.

So I never started out counting these things but as they multiplied over the years I did put numbers on them so I can greatly rejoice in his favor/grace.

My sorrow is this should be fairly normal for disciples of Yeshua not something strange.

I love that Michael. I keep a prayer journal for the very same reason... I never want to forget God's faithfulness! I was just a little surprised by the number. Sorry if I misunderstood.

This sounds a lot like my wife. She either rarely dreams, or more likely, never remembers them. I, on the other hand, dream every night and I typically remember the bulk of of them. I've become an expert on my own dreams during the course of my life and can typically tell when there is some special meaning to one. It DOES happen, just rarely.
