Sounds like a lot of fun! If you get a chance to check out Krause Springs in Spicewood, TX, that is an amazing place to visit as well! How nice that your DIL is helping out with the farm chores - sounds like a win-win! Definitely a down side to farming, is having to find someone to take care of the animals, and the plants too while you're gone...

Wouldn't that be an awesome thing to get that picture! What camera are you planning on using? Indeed, the weather can present a challenge... I hope you get to see all that your heart desires, and then we can see the pictures

Don't worry. I will pixilate out all the 'naughty bits' of the people on the beach.

I have a wonderful friend who lives in Spicewood. I bought goats from her last year and she bought a heifer from me... she did the driving so I did not go to Spicewood,,, If I'd known there was something fun to do there I'd have gone her way.

Most of my days away from home are dropping off or picking up livestock. I went to Austin last weekend for chickens... yeah there is not a lot of get-away in farm life.

Re: Summer Vacations?

It is going to be an interesting summer for the Ferd clan.

my oldest is now old enough to go to camp, so we will be crossing the Sabine River this weekend, and he and I will be attending Louisiana District Crusader Camp. I will be one of the deens in the DeRidder dorm with 10 little boys! WOW! It has been 18 years since I have been to camps. This is going to be FUN.

Then at the beginning of July there is boyscout camp. My wife will be there for 5 days with the boys!

July 15 (more to come in another thread) My little guy (who turned today) will have heart surgery.

we arent really looking much past July at this point....

On Maui, there's a mountain road with a sign that says something like "Use headlights when driving in clouds".

Pretty sure I spotted Harrison Ford in a kayak off the Na Pali Coast (Kauai), once. Wasn't quick enough with the camera, though.
