The second one. I may need to amplify some. When I say I don't beleive in God, I am not saying "I am an atheist" Perhaps I am at the beginning of a path of rediscovery. When I reached that Crossroads, I believed there were 3 possible options.
1.) God was a terrible horrible deity who I had no interest in worshipping/serving.
2.) I was completely clueless about who God really is.
3.) God didn't exist
For me, it turned out to be #2
