Or maybe it's 'regeneration, hearing, believing' like the Calvinists?

Jesus at God's right hand comes to mind. This is a Jewish saying that means Jesus sat down in his Father's throne in his power and authority. Later on in Revelation we see this happen. God is one. When you get to Heaven there will be one person on the throne. Sounds simple to me.
To the Trinitarian that is you being a contortionist and not just accepting that Jesus literally is standing to the right of the Father

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: Scriptural Acrobats

I understand where you are coming from. I do. I was raised AOG. But AOG does not preach old testament verses on the Godhead. You have to read the whole bible not just the parts you want to.

Deuteronomy 6:4
World English Bible (WEB)

4 Hear, Israel: Yahweh is our God. Yahweh is one.

Deuteronomy 32:39
21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

39 “‘See now that I, even I, am He, and there is no god besides Me. I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; neither is there any that can deliver out of My hand.

Revelation 4:2
21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

2 And immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was set in Heaven, and One sat on the throne.

Sounds simple to me.
Really how could anybody not get it?

Oh and so I don't have to post in the next 30 seconds, No I am not twisting the scriptures.

Re: Scriptural Acrobats

Here are the scriptures that everybody always brings up without taking into context. I count 11.

Mark 16:19
So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
Luke 22:69
Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
Acts 2:33
Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
Acts 5:31
Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
Acts 7:55
But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
Acts 7:56
And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
Hebrews 10:12
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
1 Peter 3:22
Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
Colossians 3:1
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Romans 8:34
Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Re: Scriptural Acrobats

Here is the context. Scriptures that teach that there is only one God. No backflips, cartwheels or shenanigans.

Please see attachment. Because there are way too many to list.

Disciple4life, That's the best explanation I've heard. I always explain "that Jesus sat down on the right hand of majesty." But that doesn't satisfy Trinitarians.

Why don't you bring this up in another thread. People need to study some of these deep things.

the Calvinists twisting of scripture to teach predestination.

If Predestination is true then everything is pointless, Jesus was lying when he said what whosoever will.

Predestination makes a mockery of the cross.

I consider predestination the most horrendous twisting of God's word.

Some would be without the knowledge of God if a woman had not preached to them....
