Yes, I was going to mention this on the baptism poll but then thought better of it, didn't want to hijack that thread... so glad you have brought up this point.
Apparently the NT church thought it was quite important to celebrate the Lord's Supper with communion whenever they got together, as we read in
1 Cor. 11:20-34
The Lord's Supper is not mentioned in the
Heb. 6:1 tenet of the faith statement, but, it is apparently a practice that the Early Church participated in as a symbolic thing, and certainly the words of Jesus would make us to understand from
John 6, and also during the Last Supper, that this was something we should do as oft as we meet together .... hmm.... it does bother me that the church nowadays do not as a whole practice this except maybe once a year (on New Year's Day) if they do it at all...
