I just really get irritated when people claim that if you aren't attending a modern institutional church meeting you are just sitting at the house backsliding in your LazyBoy zoned out on the boob tube.

My best friend growing up stopped coming to church, "cuz it wasn't how the early church did it." He talked about having bible study and devotions at home and how he had grown so much spiritually.

After a few weeks of talking about how spiritual he had become, it stopped. A few months later he admitted there was no bible study or devotion. He was just tired of going to church and used his Sundays to sit on the computer and play games.

There's a reason people think this way; it's because the majority who do claim to stay home to have bible study or devotion are really just sleeping in, sitting around, watching football in the fall, going to the lake, fishing, golfing, etc.
