So you believe Jesus was saying to both hate your parents and to honor them?
Didn't Jesus teach against hate?
Mat 5:43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
Mat 5:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
Mat 5:45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

Depends on which scripture you accept and which you reject.....
Luk 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Seekerman,
I still fail to see the supposed contradiction you're claiming exists. The context of Luke 14 is talking about denying self and discipleship.
Luke 14
25 Now large crowds were going along with Him; and He turned and said to them,
26 “If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.
27 Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
28 For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it?
29 Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who observe it begin to ridicule him,
30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’
31 Or what king, when he sets out to meet another king in battle, will not first sit down and consider whether he is strong enough with ten thousand men to encounter the one coming against him with twenty thousand?
32 Or else, while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace.
33 So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.
Notice, he did not only say "hate father and mother". He said "hate your own life too." Jesus was explaining how the cost of following him.
Acts 15
25 it seemed good to us, having become of one mind, to select men to send to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Right! And context is essential. One translation is, “ to love less.” which has to be true.
Because men are told to love their wives, as they love themselves. And we are not to hate ourselves, yet the scripture says, “and yea, his own life also” which would mean to love your own life LESS than you love Christ.

The key word in the passage is "hate" which must be changed in order for the passage to be acceptable, as you have done. "Hate" doesn't really mean hate, it means something else. Now the question becomes does love really mean love and honor really mean honor? Seems that those words are acceptable so they're not changed as "hate" in in the passage in question.
Nobody takes the bible at it's word 100% of the time is my point. Changes are made here and there and after those are made, the proclamation is that the bible is the inspired word of God without exception. But, as we see in this example, there are exceptions.
