I could have used the stethoscope a couple of weeks ago when I suspected my son had pneumonia. I treated him with home remedies, and they worked, and he is completely better now. He was having trouble breathing, and had bright green stuff coming up from his lungs. He has been prone to pneumonia since he had RSV as a baby, and almost died. The doctors told me his lungs had some damage, and he would always be susceptible to lung viruses and bacteria. Normally, I would have taken him to the doctor for antibiotic, as he gets pneumonia about once a year.

However, we prayed, and I gave him oregano oil, 2-3 drops every 2-3 hours, plus we did eucalyptus steam baths, hot compresses to his chest, and this was very effective. He wasn't able to cough at all, because his chest hurt so bad, but after the compresses and eucalyptus, he began to cough, and after that got better. Saved us a lot of $$ by not having to go to the doctor. Had he not gotten better, a doctor visit would have been necessary, but thankfully, our prayers and home remedies at home worked!
Very awesome. Thanks for sharing the remedy. I've given my DIL Eucalyptus oil for the vaporizer for the children.

Have your seen this for the bathtub? She doesn't really use Vick's Vapor Rub.

Sarah's Homemade Vicks Shower Disk Thingies

-Baking soda
-Water
-Essential oils: eucalyptus, rosemary, and lavender.
-Muffin tin
-Muffin liners

I've bookmarked this site, and printed out the recipe. Will definitely give it a try, sounds really cool. I love homemade recipes! Eucalyptus does work wonders with a cold.

gotta love midwives--the only way any wife of mine would be having help to deliver a baby. one result of the lifestyle that i've chosen--or been forced into, whatever--is that i seem to have become much more aware of my body's signals; which this book seems to be leading people to--amen!

KBTW, i don't have to tell you, prolly, that grocery store food is not optimum--but i eat it, too, on occasion. Susceptibility to pneumonia = poor immune system, to me, and for what it's worth i would recommend immuno-boosters for life, at least for this child. They are cheap, and effective--i've even cured an abscessed tooth with them.
