where exactly is this church? this isn't Bishop Boone is it?
i still like those songs but oddly enough even n many black churches they are getting away from singing them-have you noticed? Donnie McClurkin on his last project complained about it along with the fact that many of the young musicians can't play these very simple songs

You always ask the compelling, if not personal questions...but that's okay,
this time, and I don't mind answering.
I did feel quite comfortable there...I am 'Black' and can't help myself!!
But would I return...no, son, and for reasons I can't say on an open forum.
One main reason though is my mom. She doesn't drive and is in the stage in her life that she needs me.
They have never tried to get me back because that is not ethical you know...however, they were extremely receptive and sincerely happy to see me.
The church is affiliated with the Church Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Apostolic Faith.
Re music, the call and answer songs date back to slavery days and have been very much a part of the Black church structure and culture.
We sang one in our church not long ago...
What do you think about Jesus
He's all right...
Really the same came be said about our churches, Thad...how many of the young folks really know who Bishop Haywood was and the powerful songs he wrote.
I think progress is good but we should remmeber from whence we came.
Need to go check on the pie...
