It is very Godly and beautiful to see the covering when embraced en masse.

I would much rather see the things given in the pics Michael provided, than the super-do's and flowers and what-not that many modern OP women embrace.

Amen Bro! Just last week a friend of ours of many years called us from Ohio and said the Lord spoke to her about the headcovering. She is pushing 60 and will now begin obedience to this Apostolic teaching.

Theres something about seeing the Congregation gathered to Christ and the women covering. It reminds me of........the real and original New Testament Church!

Mike the real New Testament Church? I bet everything you do and say is just like the REAL New Testament Church. Mike the head covering your wife wears isn't the περιβολαιου being described in the New Testament, you still have to deal with these two Greek words κατακαλυπτεται and περιβολαιου which in now way describes the veil of the Nun, or the veil of the Hindu, but is closer to a turban περιβολαιου.

The Greek κατακαλυπτεται means to be covered completely the same way clothes cover you, but the apostle states περιβολαιου is the woman's hair, not κατακαλυπτεσθαι.

The Greek κατακαλυπτεσθαι is the woman's headship being her husband.

If women are supposed to be covered by their hair, then why do Apostolic women spend so much time putting their hair up to the point where it's just on the top of their heads. If it really was a covering, they wouldn't put it up and they wouldn't braid it, but just let it hang long.

Personally, I just think it's a tribal distinctive of the OPs, but then again, I'm the person who cut off her long hair to eliminate a persistent medical condition which was threatening my health. So obviously I'm looking for justification for whacking off my hair.

MTD, It would seem to me, that if a simple cloth covering was what the apostle Paul was speaking about in I Cor. 11, then it's ok for a woman to cut her hair as short as she wants. Do your wife and daughter wear a "veil" and cut their hair?

Long hair pleases God. No scripture says a woman cant trim her hair. Its a great burdensome deception to teach trimming of hair is a sin.

The Greek κατακαλυπτεσθαι is the woman's headship being her husband.

Can she take him off or put him on when she prays and prophesies?

My Apostolic friends please take note that Pauls point is around what a man or woman do when they PRAY OR PROPHESY!!

Look carefully at Pauls point.

4Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. 5But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. 1 Cor 11:5-6

Whatever he is teaching has to do with one PRAYING OR PROPHESYING.

It's BEEN a cultural tradition. They are even wearing the same sort of head coverings others do who are not Christians.

The word "Covering" and the word "veil" are not the same
