If there is any doubt then why bother trying to live the way God wants us to.. might as well party and enjoy ourselves. I understand what you mean in reference to a person saying "God told me this, or God told me that", but to include the Bible with those examples..well that I do not understand.

By the way..when i say "you", I am speaking in general and it applies to anyone.. not you particularly. Although after reading all of these posts I am curious..just exactly what do you believe?
If you simply decide to believe the Bible is God's Word, that's just the start. You have to decide which doctrines derived form the Bible are the correct ones.

Oneness? There's Bible for that. Trinity? There's Bible for that. It's just a matter of interpretation. And you can't just say "I let the Bible speak for itself" -- lots of people say that, and yet come up with extremely different beliefs.

Maybe that's why Jesus predicted that some believers would be rejected, even though they thought they got it right. "Lord, Lord..." "I never knew you." They guessed wrong.

Re: Homosexuality question

Oh, what do I believe? I'm an agnostic. Further, I believe there is nothing after death. And I believe it's hogwash to claim that someone who doesn't believe in God (and that God has told us things) is evil, doesn't love truth, is a fool, etc. Utter hogwash.

You're not honest.

I guess you will be somewhere at the 8th and 9th ring?

Funny, agnostic is two Greek words that mean "no knowledge" some agnostic are pretty cool, but there are those who claim to be "agnostics" who while wearing the label "agnostic" will sure let you know how much you don't know and how much they really know.

Good Grief!

"illegal Immigrants" has become politically incorrect, now it "undocumented immigrants".

You believe there is nothing after death?
Well have you died and have returned? Then what proof or evidence you have that there is nothing after death?

an evil person does not believe in evil, to an evil person it is simply a different way of seeing things.

Do you for a moment think that Hitler saw himself as evil? No actually he saw himself as a great person.

A Fool is wiser in his own eyes than 7 men who can give correct reason.

So I'm evil. Fine. You go ahead and think that.

Timmy,
Please help me understand. Why are you associated with a “Christian” forum when you are agnostic? Why don’t you dialogue with people on an agnostic forum? Really, what is your purpose here? Are people on AFF the only individuals you socialize with? How agnostic are you by socializing on a Christian forum?

The leftover guilty complex.

down deep inside of him, there is still a longing for the things of the spirit, that is why he still hangs around people who talk about spiritual things.

he knows he lost something along the way and he is somehow trying to recuperate what he lost, but he does not know how.

So, everyone should dialog with people who believe the same thing they do? Where's the fun in that?
