I do not argue that some of what you say no doubt is prevailent in some cases but I have known families that just love each other without control issues they are just close.

I believe all families that live close to each other LOVE each other! Maybe some do love and respect their parents so strongly that they want to live next door to them their entire life.
Maybe I'm weird, but I loved and respected my parent very much, but I had no desire to move next door to them. I wanted to be on my own. This doesn't mean that I loved them
any less than those who choose to live next door!
