well, i didn't mean to imply that God does not care about Jews, but that "Israel" has spiritual implications which most likely trump any temporal ones. Permanent place in this world, anyone? I mean, by what stretch is anyone able to justify the current nation of Israel as Godly?

hmm. they were saying that in 34 AD, too, tho--w/o the "rapture" part, of course. That didn't reappear until the 19th century, i guess, but it's not new, either.
