Re: Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.

I am interested in NT literature. There is no mention of facial hair in the NT. There is no real description of Jesus Christ. It must not be important.

They plucked Jesus' beard.

Also if you look at historical records of biblical times the men did have facial hair. I am sure it was harder to have a close shave back then since they didn't have nice electric razors or disposable razors.

It is fine to be interested in what the New Testament has to say about facial hair but it would be a mistake not to research and know what the culture of the day as well as the technology of the day dictated.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Brother Pitta, but the scripture in Isaiah isn't focusing on facial, but focusing on the brutality towards an innocent man. I'm really not understanding the reasoning behind "since it's not mentioned it is not important". Some could really run wild with that sort of ideology. Don't you agree?

It's something I learned in college. Some topics are so unimportant they are not mentioned in the NT.

In reference to Bishop Noel Jones fathering a child out of wedlock, be careful if that is not factual then it is not fair to say he did this. Many are falsely accused but stating with such assurance as you have ascertains that you have 1st hand knowledge of this being true.

Facial hair is mentioned plenty of times in the OT, and if it is there then it must be a little important.
