I don't get it.
If women wore dresses and long skirts ( and NOT pants) way back in the day...and that was "culture"...and many many years later all that changes...well.... I want to know what spirit led that change?
We all know who the "god of this world" is.
I believe in modesty inwardly and outwardly. I know there are dresses and skirt that are NOT modest. I don't feel "bound" by rules and standards.
I don't believe I could please my Lord all the while dressing in a manner that reveals too much of my skin or bodily shape lest Satan use me to tempt others! I've seen apostolics who don't follow standards in their church and they are wearing so much skin revealing clothing...low cut shirts that show cleavage...and I just don't get it!
I personally don't wear pants. Im not sure I can see that pants for women are modest. Sure, it covers you up but unless you like them baggy (which MOST women do NOT) it still shows your figure and shape. All this "keeping up with the Joneses" in our apparel is so vain! I don't care for the latest fashions. Yes i agree, that our love for one another should be what others notice. But what about our love for our precious King? Shouldn't that also be something that others see in us? ...."for man looketh on the outward appearance"..... I don't want to wear what everybody else is wearing. (Nor do I dress too old fashioned or even modestly "flashy") I don't want to look like the world. I want God to reflect through me in ALL that I do. I want to be an example of love. We are a "peculiar" people. A special people belonging to a One True God.
You are admitting that to wear dresses, not pants, years ago, was culture...in a post about rejecting culture...

Your right. I never should have made an intelligent observation. Shame on me
