All humans who die without Jesus are lost, but I have been taught in the past that the eternal destination of the baby is based on the salvational status of the parents at the time of the baby's death. Now, biblically, I can't support that position.

I heard that also, but I realized later that is not Biblical. Jesus said about non-born again children, "theirs is the kingdom of heaven".
He did not say that about non-born again adults though.


If God is personally creating every human being today, is He creating their spirit, their body, all of the above? Is God creating sin-stained babies?

He creates perfection. the presence of sin damages creation.

For example, the sin of Hiroshima damages generations of what would be beautiful creation.
