Has f-khan said or done anything to oppress you? Has his existence actually affected any of your attempts to succeed in life?

In what was has President Obama coddled f-khan anyway?

The things that f-khan and others of his hateful ilk suggests has never and will never happen in America.

The things that white racists suggest was THE ACTUAL way of life in America for my Dad's generation and even for some of my cousins who are older than me, but not my Dad's age.

There lies the difference and the danger.

White racism stopped me from being able to buy the home I wanted in the neighborhood I wanted in upstate NY back in 2007.

It is within the rights of a homeowner to determine who they sell their home to and they specifically told my agent that they didn't want to sell their home to a black person.

When I was in the Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Lejeune, I know for a fact that I had racists in my Company and even in my unit and there were a couple situations, accusations, and such that occurred, but the Lord brought me out on top. If it wasn't for the Lord though, it could have ended differently.

I had a few minor experiences when I lived in Mobile, but nothing that really affected my life-- short term or long.

I have had several dubious run-ins with law enforcement where I am sure my race played a factor. If I had responded the wrong way, things would have ended differently-- but I wasn't the one to initiate contact with the police. They initiated contact-- different police officers in various circumstances with the same m.o. and results.

As for stopping ME from succeeding, I don't think it has-- but I sound "proper" (aka "white") when I speak, I joined the military when I was 17 and most of my civilian jobs have somehow been related to my time in the service.

However, it has affected my Dad and he is still alive and not even elderly. It has affected some of my older cousins as well.

JD - legally a homeowner cannot do that.

If the homeowner said that they would be liable for damages.
Also, if you met their asking price they have no choice but to agree to sell.
Insofar as other discrimination, I have experienced some of that myself.
Many, many times.
Some of these were trivial and some were not.
And this was discrimination from African Americans.
I would also say that I had several interactions with Law Enforcement in my youth. Nothing serious, just stuff young men get into. However, if I had gone into those situations with the presupposition that the cops were out to get me, then I could have perceived that as the reason, rather then them just doing their job.
Just remembered a situation where we were buying a house. We had made an offer and it was accepted, then the homeowner backed out. Why? I do not know. He was a different race than I am, so I could have said that was why, but I really do not know and did not worry about it.
God gave us a better house!

With all the above, I will agree with an earlier post of yours which talked about the definitions of racism versus systemic racism.
One of the worst examples of governmental racism was the US Department of Agriculture discriminating against any non-white farmers for years, under both parties.
This had the effect of driving these farmers from their land.
There was a settlement, but it could never be enough.

The house thing, that was racial and also illegal.

Are there racists in the military. Sure. I'm not sure how you knew these guys were since you didn't really share the whole story.

I know plenty of white people that have had dubious run ins with the law and if they responded wrong they would have had major problems too. Having a dubious run in doesn't mean it was because you were black.

And finally, I guarantee I'd experience racism if I moved to an almost all black neighborhood because I am white. It'd be harder to find a job. People would naturally be more suspicious of me. Though while it would fit the definition, I wouldn't think of it as a racial issue but as a cultural issue.

Racial and cultural lines often overlap the same people. It makes it hard to distinguish what is caused because of your race and what is caused because your culture is different.

Re: "NY Values?"-- SC GOP'ers LOVE Trump!

I played a lot of BB as a young man.
And most of it was in black neighborhoods.
I learned how to take the abuse and just let my game talk.
Also, people learning that the 6'3 250 black guy with me was my best friend, tended to help...

This article is significant, telling, and sad.

Hopefully, not too many of the "Religious Right" get caught up in the Trump movement.

The Trump train is not bound for Glory.

No, the Trump train is bound for destruction!
I thank you for this post.

It is so important.

Sadly today proves there is nothing GREAT or Godly about America anymore! We need to stop pretending.

Sometimes I wonder what happened... I remember in the 80's when people at church started talking about the need to get involved in the political system...I was young and excited...but it turned from a Christian perspective to a pure conservative movement, that went off the deep end...

If anything, the light of the TRUE CHURCH will shine brighter in these darkening latter days. But we cannot sit by and pretend any of these politicians truly have our best interests at heart. They do not. They lie to us to steal our votes. Is there any one politician today that truly resembles the teaches of the Lord Jesus Christ? I would be hard pressed to find one.

But anybody who thinks Trump may represent what Christians need really need to pray and seek God. Especially after watching this:

People are too angry to listen to reason. That is how a populist takes advantage and runs with it.
