Let me try...

Not written TO us. The New Testament, originally written roughly 2 thousand years ago, was not written literally to us. The epistles were written to different churches like the church in Ephesus, or the church in Phillipi. Some books, (Timothy) were written to individuals. None of the books were addresses Dear Mr. TK Burk.

Written FOR us. All of the scriptures were written FOR us. For our admonition. For us to glean from. For us to read and study. For us to meditate upon.

My question for you TK, are there any biblical prophecies that are still yet unfulfilled? Also, who were the gospels written to? Who was Revelation written to?

I appreciate your two-cents. I would say you nailed it in those definitions. However, I was hoping to have Sean answer them to see how HE understood them. If you've followed his posts, you see he flipflops back and forth on how he uses the "TO" and "FOR" statements.

I'm still hoping Sean will answer these for himself. This would give us (the reader) a standard to hold him to when he posts.

To test this, please answer the following in your own words:

What is meant by "the Bible is not written TO us"?

What is meant by "the Bible is written FOR us"?

I don't know Sean all that well, but it doesn't look like he's giving any straight answers to direct questions. That's why I chimed in.

I'm hoping he sees your definitions and they help him correct his silliness.

Your cryptic statement needs a comma between "grief" and "not".

Are you absolutely sure this is not written to you?

31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

If not you, then who else?

Who is "YE"?

I know who each book is written to.

We are speaking of John and Mark.

Did you know that various books were written to various folks at various times?

It was written to save, edify, comfort and exhort the believer.
