Our society needs to be reformed, and Christians are the ones to reform it no doubt. But do we have to bring back Lex Talonis? When Paul addressed incest in the Corinthian church He didn't recommend death, he told the congregation to expel the offender so that they would be brought to repentance. And afterward told them to bring him back in to the congregation.
One of the speakers in the UTubes I listened to said reconstructionists believe that it will take a 1000 plus years for society to be reformed so I guess we don't have to worry about draconic reprisals being instituted in our life time.
(On a side note, this was one of the reasons they were opposed to dispensationalism, it doesn't give time for them to reform society and bring about a golden age.)
