I moved to NC 4 years ago from Michigan, I dont recall asking either of the two guys I call pastor. I did notify them because I was in the music ministry.
While I may consider a pastors advise, he may also be with freindly retort, ignored. Unless someone ran to Jediwill saying I prophetically pronounce Judgement on this move, he does not have to ask permission like he is a 10 year old wanting to buy a hotwheels car.
Some of yall scare me with the pastor pedestaling you do.

It's not about asking the man for permission. That is not the proper dynamic I am suggesting should happen.
A good Pastor will not make this about permission anyway. Your Pastor loves you and (absent a direct word from God) he is not looking to put you in a situation where you would be breaking your own neck to do whatever it is you want to do.
Jediwill,
Do you trust God?
Do you have a Pastor?
Did God give you this Pastor?
What is God's role and purpose for the Pastor that He has placed in your life?
Would you allow God to speak to you, ADVISE YOU, through the Pastor that He has given you?
If not a Pastor, do you at least have some sort of person you respect, who is clearly more spiritual than you, in your life? Does he have your permission to "pull your coat tail" when he can see that you are about to fall on your sword?

Reading your posts on this threads makes me think you might be the sort of person who looks to the pastor to tell them what car to buy, what house to buy, etc, etc.
Jedi may very well be making a big mistake moving. I wouldn't do it without a job secured but then he did say he has free rent for awhile so that does give him some breathing room. However as the person responsible for his families well being he has the right to pursue a better life in another area. If I were him I would have discussed it with my pastor as a courtesy but I would not have felt it was my pastors decision to make.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

By heeding this BIBLICAL CONCEPT a person can reap the benefits of making good decisions about natural life simply by speaking and consulting with people who might know more than us and who might have been exposed to more than us.
Sometimes, God uses people to speak to us, people like our Pastors or even spiritual mentors, giving words of wisdom or even advice ordained just for that moment.
God will bless His children, but we circumvent His process and potentially diminish the blessings He would give us when we don't do things His Way.
JediWill,
If you have a Pastor and if you have not spoken with him YET, I want to encourage you to do so. Everyone knows going to NC is your decision to make-- no one questions that at all. However... just do this God's Way.

It's not meddlin when the man posted about his decision on a public internet forum.
If he didn't want his decision up for any kind of discussion, congratulations, or critique, then he shouldn't posted about it online.
He went fishing online here and all he was catching was congratulatory carp.
