REALLY??? He KNOWS the founder of the salvation army had the baptism of the Holy Ghost because he saw a pic of Boothe, and in the pic there was light in his eyes.

We should not be comparing ourselves with others. Living for God is not a competitive sport. there are too many factors involved in the abilities, callings, resources, opportunities, etc. To say "in comparison" about virtually anything concerning accomplishments of man does not fit well in God's kingdom, (hence scriptures warning not to do so). Its certainly not an indictment against the church if others are charitable and giving.

However there is nothing wrong with drawing inspiration from others being led by Him that are obeying Him and while my "talents" may be less than others, that inspiration of what God does through others should provoke me to desire to do more and act on that desire.


We are constantly comparing ourselves with others and usually in the line of "If you aint doin it my way you are a lesser Christian if a Christian at all."


We make posts about the apparent shortcomings of ministers, saints, other denominations and we sit in judgement and compare them against our lofty heights of holiness and separation we have attained.


Im proposing something different...in where I recognize my own shortcomings and I cry out that I want to change and forsake my apathy, fear and laziness.


Men like Booth, if they accomplished what they did while in alleged error without Spirit indwelling...should we not seek to accomplish more than they WITH the Spirit?


The same voices that will say "Dont compare" will sometimes do so gladly when pointing out supposed doctrinal error in someone else.


Im not advicating adopting doctrinal error...Im suggesting that we take what they did that was RIGHT and run with it.
