I forgot about the one suggestion-- checked out the video, looks like a typical conservative UPC church.

Doesn’t look like you’re going to find what you’re looking for here. Perhaps you should move on. Then sign in under your real username.

Re: Needing church recommendations, Louisville KY
...granted I'm not looking for a charismatic church, just something with a healthy balance. Hopefully someone will eventually give some suggestions instead of the people who enjoy picking at people.

Yeah, but then why am I seeing all kinds of posts (a lot of the usual Debbie Downer gripers like on this thread) about "liberal" UPC churches. They are out there, I was hoping someone could help direct us to save us a lot of time and energy visiting umpteen churches.

Which video? Hard to make that judgment when all the videos I've seen on the first page at least only show the Pastor preaching. No songs or view of the congregation.

Did you just quote and reply to yourself?

This is the one I meant to quote. I have seen some of the ubiquitous posts about "liberal" versus con churches so there IS something to find, can someone direct me to one?

Re: Needing church recommendations, Louisville KY
I find this really interesting some people are just so bored and angry to get on a thread and be rude because they are behind a keyboard about something that absolutely does not affect their life at all. That's a little troubling to me in a way. People who aren't at peace with themselves or others. It's the attitudes like that that make me run and not walk the other way from the "con" churches.
Thanks n david, we checked out one of those this past Sunday. We will check out the other. We are also going to check out a church of some real friendly ladies who were so hospitable to me at Ladies Retreat. I get the feeling it's too legalistic there, but we're going to pay them a visit out of courtesy, they were sweet people.

Re: Needing church recommendations, Louisville KY
If you have ever been to a PAW church, that's about what I'm looking for. They are less beat you over the head about standards, and generally not the stupid nitpicky stuff that isn't even Biblical. Now if you're going to criticize them you've got problems. My PAW pastor showed me the most Christian love I've seen out of a pastor. Wonderful person.
