If you are bold or honest enough to share you views or questions, you should be prepared to have the proverbial, label slapped on your back without your knowledge. Then being ostracized is not far behind.
This certainly doesn't happen in every District, but it does happen repeatedly and many are hurt and disillusioned because of it. I do know some men in upper levels of UPCI leadership who won't criticize you, but there are probably more who will "mark" you and remember you and even share your name with others as one of the "others."
That is why it is so important to have a forum such as this where things can be shared in relative anonymity. I dare say that if some at headquarters knew what some of "theirs" were saying, that there would be a high price to pay for it. I know that because of numerous communications I have received from some of them who work there.
I wish I could declare that the "Inquisition" concluded with the "Infernal Document" but others have let me know that isn't the case. So sad!

Yes, I appreciate your post. I have been out of the UPC for 20+ years, but still have some innate need to have some of these discussions. It is amazing just how deep our early programming is ingrained. While I appreciate my home heritage which is still my foundation, my deepest disappointment is that the strong outward holiness teaching actually immunizes one from the need for a deep personal relationship with Jesus.
