3D printing is already being done at the nano level by CRISPR edited bacteria. Think about THAT. Grow a Lexus in a petri dish? Or a new lung? Or a movable prosthetic hand with actual nerve interfacing to existing nerves?
Grow an entirely new body? Brain transplant? Cybernetics? "You wanna live forever, with enhancements?"
All this is being worked on NOW.
3D printers build bigger and more complex 3D printers. AI programs code and develop more advanced AI programs. A 3D printer, an AI, and basic CRISPR setup would lead to a self building nano microbe-based cybernetic manufacturing and software development facility.
