I get the disdain for Trump, I have mixed feelings about his term in office. That said, the shutdowns and lockdowns were implemented by governors and mayors, not Trump. He certainly didn't do anything to push back on it, and may have even fed into it some, but he's not directly responsible.
It's local politicians that we need to hold accountable for their despicable actions. Even Rickets - as much as he's been less awful than other governors - still shut down some businesses, and has done nothing to fight the "mask mandate" in Lincoln, despite his claims that he would.
It's local and state officials we need to be concerned about, rather than whomever is "El Presidente". So long as we appoint good local leaders, then the national politics won't be as abrasive.
