I could understand the idol worship comment if The Great Speckled Bird was on the playlist.

Here is Rev. Strange remarks concerning the worship from this nite.
"Moses coming down the mountain heard strange music. He heard a strange sound. He knew something was wrong from the sound. Someone could have said, "Oh never mind, Moses, these young people have come up with their own sound. They ware worshipping the Lord in their own way and music."
Moses would have known better. He was right. The music was the sound of worship of an idol made of gold. Such sounds will always be different than that of divine consecreation music. The sound of the uncircucised should not be hard to recognize for those that have their ears and eyes turned toward heaven.
I am hearing the worship of an idol. While we have stood stoutly with our standards at the front door of the church, the enemy has slipped in through the back door and has erected an idol in our very midst, under our noses and we did not see it coming. "
The songs that were sung that nite were "There is No God Like Our God", "How Great Is Our God", "How Great Thou Art", "When I Speak Your Name" and "To Worship You I Live".
According to Rev. Strange, this was the music that caused the "Idol Worship" and "weird chanting".
You possibly need to use caution when using these songs in your worship service!!

Get a life here, he literally posted that the UPC of Louisianna, with music led by the POA, was akin to demonic worship...where was your outrage then...
OH, could it be that it wasn't some UC hoedown music therefore it is alright to attack them...????

You speak the truth!
Isn't it amazing that some folks get a pass when they criticize others, but suddenly it is an attack thread when someone else does it?

I know what you mean...same here.
A lot of the songs old time Pentecost sang were repetitive, and in the Black church we called them "call and answer songs."
What do ya think about Jesus
He's all right...

Bro. Strange is a good man who loves the Lord with all of His heart. I'm sure his intentions were not to cause confusion over this.
I'm trusting in his wisdom to set this straight...

I'm occasionally considered liberal for my preference of modern worship songs myself.... Israel Houghton, Clint Brown, Jason Upton, Jeff Deyo, Rita Springer, Misty Edwards, etc....
to everyone.... lets keep the criticisms objective and focused on the concern/issue.... not aimed toward the person....
carry on....
