Someone visiting my fathers church some years ago, added another verse to that song....it was the first time I heard this verse:

It was written by Blind Willie Johnson, a blind itinerant blues guitarist (one of his recordings was included on the Voyager spacecraft by the way) back in the 20s.

The song has undergone a gazillion modifications. In fact, it is often modified on the spot extemporaneously by whoever may be singing it. It is a common "praise song" in holiness, pentecostal-holiness, and pentecostal churches.

The Oneness version, of course, is the best.
