About 2-3 years ago, I briefly sat on the auditing committee for the New York Metro District which formed for the very first time ever.
It was formed because of in-fighting at a district business meeting due to irregularities in the financial statements ... For as long as the district had been around ... no one had pointed out the constitutional right given to districts to form such a committee ... it was only when TF Tenney, the invited speaker, suggested it and said that Louisiana had been doing so for years ...
it was only then, and after almost an hour and half of senseless accusations being thrown back and forth that I motioned for a resolution for the district to form such a committee.
Amazing if you ask me ... even ministers of the Gospel were clamoring, and even backbiting, because they wanted to see better accountability ...
that ... coupled w/ the advent of new tax laws affecting the church ... it's puzzling to see that there isn't a rush, locally and nationally, for reform within our movement.
I must echo the sentiments of Pastor Addams when he stated that the Apostolic movement has been slow moving, and even
reluctant, to utilize the bible-based tools and resources out there for better church governance.
Just being pompous, I guess.
