I have posted scripture in different places in this thread and the other thread on tithing. I don't have time to do that today.
There isn't a new testatment command for the church to tithe, but some Christiansfollow the old testament practice of Abraham, Jacob, and the nation of Israel. Abraham gave the tithe to the priest, Jacob gave the tithe to God, Israel gave a tithe to the Levites. As far a I know, there was no instruction given by Moses to the priest or Levite regarding what to do with the tithe other than as a compensation or income to spend according to their needs and desires.

We are ALL accountable to God and Paul went the extra mile to show himself approved unto men as well. So if ministers follow Paul's example as he followed Christ....I still think there would be saints who would begrudge the material things God has given them in support of the gospel.
