Now, this is not meant to sway anyone, but just to illustrate that there are risks in keeping a gun for home defense. Not saying not to. Just saying be careful.
I don't know how close my friend was to pulling the trigger, and he may be well trained. Not really sure. But: anyone, no matter how well trained, could have made a terrible mistake in a situation like that. It's dark, you're abruptly awakened, and adrenaline is flowing.
I'm not sure if a gun right by your bed is a great idea.

I don't know about anyone else here, but I think it's pretty dumb to keep a loaded firearm somewhere like that. If someone is going to possess firearms and for self protection or whatever, they need to be smart about them.
