Mizpeh and Believer, I hate to disagree with both of you, but here is my take. lol. The kingdom is NOW -- it does not -- nor ever will -- come with observation, but is the sort of thing that is IN YOU. We will
never see the Kingdom, itself. We will only see the EFFECTS of it.
He is on the throne of David NOW. Without complicating
Acts 2, and adding things it does not say,
Acts 2 shows this to be true.
I absolutely see no millennium at all in our future.
Hebrews 9 shows us that the idea of an apparent failure of God's promises to Israel in seeing them away from God, for the most part in that day, was not clarified by Paul by saying "Ahh, but in the future millennium the promises will be fulfilled to Israel." HE WOULD HAVE SAID THAT IF THERE WAS A MILLENNIUM TO COME, because that is exactly what futurists state will cause fulfillment of promises to Israel. But NOWHERE does Paul say ANYTHING about such a millennium. Instead he simply says, "NOT ALL ISRAEL IS ISRAEL." In other words, when we consider the promises of God to "Israel", we are meant to realize that
not everyone who is called "Israel" is actually the intended "ISRAEL" in God's mind. And it mentions that "the children of promise are counted for the seed." And when you read
Galatians 4, you see that THE GENTILE BELIEVERS OF THE CHURCH are included as THE CHILDREN OF PROMISE, as well as the born again Jews.
Israel will NEVER get the kingdom again. It was taken from them and given to another nation -- the church -- and Jesus said nothing about it ever returning to Israel, despite what prophecy pundits tell us.
