This reminds me of a guy... he used to call all of the pastors in the area in the middle of the night just to make sure they were "on call" and "available." When he told them who he was and where he went to church- boy did his pastor get it! LOL!

We had a Pastor come to our church and my pastor allowed him to preach.
I was kinda shocked...in fact so was my Pastor. He was preaching against women and how they dressed...they he got into zippers....pointed at his and declared "that zipper belongs to me"
Oh and I think pockets on skirts too...
My pastor afterwards said we did NOT follow that.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I have not read all of this thread but this is supposed to be a true story. I also read it on the old board.
Once and man and woman planned a rendezvous in a hotel. They were married, but not to each other.
The man was about to turn on the tv and the woman said, "Please don't turn that on. You know we don't watch television."

I have heard of preachers asking that all of the contents of the ladies' purses be poured out on the pews and the men's pockets be emptied to check the content. It's hard for me to believe this actually happened. Has anyone heard of this????

These are funny and having grown up in UPC, I've heard or worse witnessed a lot of these things. But, what is sad is these sorts of extremes and inconsistencies have seriously hurt and injured many a folk.
