Twice Paul had to confront Peter about forcing unbiblical mandates on the Gentiles. Paul Paul took on the Peter when it became apparent that the double standard was confusing Titus. There is biblical precedence for challenging legalism with liberty. Liberty won everytime. Without a church split.

See, while I am in agreement that a conservative should not force those things that are convictions upon those that do not have them, I also am against the libs that think they have to force the conservative to "accept their liberties". This could be looked at as the same spirit that the homosexuals have when they attempt to force acceptance of their lifestyle.
