Jesus is picture with a garment down to his feet, could this be used to teach against shorts?
I've also read where because the priest only showed his feet.hands and face when going into the holy place, we should to only show that much.
whta thinketh thou?

Maybe men are supposed to wear dresses(robes) and women too!.......

Combine this scripture with the one in Daniel regarding his dream about the Ancient of Days giving all Glory to the Son of Man, and you could have a doctrinal proof for the Trinity.

But why would it make the point the robe went down to his feet? or was it just there for nothing

I believe that clothes were made for the purpose of protecting the skin from the elements...in the garden they were naked...that was not what caused the sin...it was Eve's not knowing what God had told Adam...without truth she was deceived. I think it is hard to place ourselves in those days and understand what times were like in Jesus's day and just after. Also I believe it was the style of the day...and was so because of where they lived and how they lived, not to make a fashion statement although that might have been true for some...clothes often gave clues to where you came from and what tribe you belonged to...its more complicated then shorts or bare knees...the whole clothes thing is soooo over blown, personally I don't care if a man wants to wear shorts or not...or a woman either...I have seen woman and men fully dressed that were not modest, not because of the clothes they wore but because of the body language and their attitude....

It's not a twist it was what I was taught in a UPC church....hummmm! God did not talk directly to Eve he spoke to Adam, and Adam did not rely all of what God said....if we know scripture and truth we will not be deceived as Eve was...she was deceived Adam made a choice to sin!

What kind of garment was it?
What color was it?
Was it transparent?
Was it tight?
How high did it go? To the "paps"? To the shoulder? Did it cover one shoulder and leave the other bare?
Did he wear a belt or sash with it?
Did it have tassels?
I think it would be rather hard to find a rigid rule for dress from this scenario. It does make sense to conclude that his chest was covered, and the garment did seem cover his body all the way down to some proximity near his feet, and some proximity near his hands. If the garment was flowing, and the sleeves rather loose, it stands to reason that his forearm may have been revealed up to his elbow or slightly above, and that his ankle and a portion of his calf even as far up as his knee may have been revealed at times when he walked.
We can glean some principle, possibly, from this, but certainly no rigid rules.

Amen.
It was a ceremonial robe. Jesus was not doing landscaping and hauling wheel barrows through the back yard on a hot July day. He was appearing in the heavens.
He was dressed for a ceremonial occasion, not for taking his family wading on the beach. He was dressed appropriately for the occasion. The "girt about the paps with a golden girdle" statement means that He wore His belt across His chest.
