If you are mature enough to live by principle... then a tv wouldn't do you any harm.
If you are mature enough to live by principle and you choose not to have a tv because of those principles... then you, per your own principles, would not have one.
I am aware that your question was offered in jest but I did find it a little comical that it appeared to completely miss the point of rules vs principles.
With principled living you no longer have to ask if you can. That is the nature of living by rules.
And then, in jest concerning principled living, your post simply demonstrated, yet again, a mindset of living by rule.

The most deadly sins do not leap upon us, they creep up on us.
This is why we see adults throwing tantrums, and parents chasing their children all around wondering why children are so exhausting.
I'll disagree. When I was a stay at home mom and had TIME to parent my children properly by principles, they weren't exhausting. They were charming, wonderful, behaved little people. Now? Oh my goodness. I'm parenting strictly by rules at this point, what little bit of parenting I actually get to do in my busy schedule, and it's not good. Not good at all.
