I know certain ones who will say yahoooo....to those who lie, I for one do not.
When and if it is changed in the AOF - then I will say to that pastor, I am all for it, but till then, there is nothing in the Bible about advertising on TV, but there is something in the Bible about lying. Pure and simple.
I have no problem with the ad, I have a problem with the lie.

Its not about a harley, its about a good honest name. This issue is one reason I have such a bad taste in my mouth with UPC churches in the TN area. If you don't have enough integrity and honestly to walk within the guidelines of the Org you signed on with, then all the great preaching you may do means very little in real life.

Thad, you are SO out of touch with the whole Harley scene. There are definitely the wild guys with the whole bad side, but nowadays the majority of Harley riders are people my age who can finally afford things like this!! There are a whole lot of us who ride dressed like normal people and just like to go somewhere for a day to eat or spend the night and come back. It's so relaxing and is actually something that Eddie and I can enjoy together.
It's no different than ministers who play golf. The majority of people on the golf course are drinking and betting on their games. That sure doesn't stop preachers from playing because of the appearance of evil. Eddie doesn't play golf, so thank goodness, he has something to do that's relaxing!!

Rather than say I'm 'for' it I'd rather say I'm not against it... just never had one. And, coincidentally, I don't equate it with Superbowl Sunday or Nascar Sunday: Riding a bike is not a sport and that makes a 'Biker Sunday' no different than things like 'Community Appreciation Sunday' where we honor policemen and public servants... just another way to get them close enough to preach to them.
We don't do organized sports... but many do have motorcycles.

good gawwd! owning a Harley now means that you are worldly??? Let's also preach against owning a BMW or a Mercedes Benz... if you don't own one, you don't have to be worried about being identified with the rich white pretentious snob scene!!
