I think the schedule is the worst culprit of all. We make so many compromises just to keep a schedule.

Amen to the bolded statement. My schedule and the associated stress are my biggest problem.
I do take a sublingual Vitamin B complex with folic acid AND a 1000 mcg of B12. I have done some research on Pernicious Anemia and B12 deficiencies and I have discovered that the symptoms of both have been prevalent in my life for the last 5 years since being diagnosed with IBS. Typically the cause of Pernicious Anemia is B12 shortage due to changes in the stomach and intestines causing an inability to absorb B12 from either supplementation or food stuffs. More and more now, the doctors that are really focusing are saying the condition may not be as rare as it is Underdiagnosed.
I have been feeling better since I started with the sublingual B12 Complex with folic acid which was just over a week ago.
With your history, you ought to check it out. It can cause low RCB counts resulting in poor oxygen transport to the nerves and tissue, ulitmately resulting in nerve and organ damage.

It can hurt you. High doses can cause kidney stones. I doubt a once or twice super high dose to keep a cold away would do it, but it really all depends how sensitive you are to it. Just something to keep in mind. Moderation in all things.....

Yes too much can hurt you. I have witnessed patients with projectile bowel movements in the back of an ambulance!!

I have an arthritic neck and lower back, and a badly arthritic hip. At one time, I could not lift my head to shave, the pain was so great.
Then, I was introduced to Glucosamine and Chondroitin. I still have the arthritis, but I am mostly without pain.
My orthopedic surgeon suggested, on his own, that I take Glucosamine and Chondroitin. For my bones and joints.
Here is what I found: Since I am a large man, I need to take 3,000 mg of Glucosamine, and 2400 mg of Chondroitin Sulfate each day. I divide it up into half that in the morning and half in the afternoon.
I find, to save money, the best place to purchase it is at Costco.
The studies that have found it to be ineffective have not given sufficient dose and have looked for results too soon. What I have seen with those that I have recommended it to, is that they need to wait for about a month to begin to see noticeable results.
Several times, I have tried to quit using it so I could test if it was really doing anything for me. Within about two weeks, the stiffness and pain began to return. I consider it as important to my well-being as my medications - that is until the Lord heals me.

For years, one of my "hobbies" has been educating people in the finding and than the use of wild plants for food or medicine. This involves teaching how to make these plant materials into tinctures, salves, teas, etc.
Going hand in hand with this information, I have taught natural health subjects.
When it came to colloidal silver, as usual with my other class subjects, I did lots of research prior to teaching about it. After learning all I could, I purchased a $100 kit. I then took it apart (four screws) and found how they were using the three batteries. I knew I could duplicate it. The kit came with the instructions I gave above.
Meanwhile, I found on the Internet the "make your own kit" instructions that duplicated what I had already found out. I have since made maybe 8 different kits for friends. (I no longer make them for anyone else, since they are so easy for anyone to make.)
The instructions for making CS are found on the Internet.

PS. Yes, I was once healthy. I am not healthy now, not because I am taking herbs and supplements, but because the accident has me badly banged up and having needed 11 surgeries in these last four years. I need more surgeries. The accident not only hurt my bones, it has also hurt my brain and heart. (I'm saying this because I worried someone would say, "He teaches and uses these things, but is a wreck physically." My present health has nothing to do with the subject we are talking about.)

I am a believer in natural remedies but sometimes they are hard to gauge. What accident were you in if you don't mind my asking?

No, I don't mind. We had a high speed head-on auto accident.
October 18, 2003, my wife and I took a prayer drive. We had recently stood before the Lord to express our desire to once again be vessels for His use. On that drive, 12 miles south of Republic WA on a highway, in our one year old small car, we had a truck come into our lane and hit us head-on. Being very remote, it took awhile for the medics to get to us. The police treated the scene as a fatality scene because of the mess, and not knowing if we would live.
We were air-lifted to a trauma center in Spokane WA. Our injuries were many, but the hospital only wanted to deal with the orthopedic needs because they did not know if we had enough insurance to pay for all the care we really needed. My wife had one surgery, and I had two. We were in the hospital for 18 days.
Our complete story is found as a link at http://www.genext.net/~mandlgaul - you will see the accident testimony link about a third of the way down the page. The car pictures are found in the menu to the left of the main page. I have not been able to get into the website to update things since last May -- sorry.
We lost everything because of the accident: our health, our finances, our car, our home, our income --- BUT, we still had each other and the Lord.
In the last four years we have seen miracle after miracle as the Lord has supernaturally met all our material needs. Our marriage is stronger than ever; our relationship with the Lord is stronger than ever; our faith is stronger than ever. While in the natural, it seems my age and snowballing physical problems will prevent me from ever being back in the ministry (formerly a pastor, chaplain, missionary), our faith and expectations are centered in Jesus and His Word -- thus we are believing for continued healing and opportunities to be His vessels for His glory.
