(To me, these "holier that thous" arent as holy as they think, if they have a problem with an anointed man of God because of his skin color.)

I hate hearing stores like this. But maybe it just reminds us that some things haven't changed as much as we would like to think.

Some say the UPC is progressing, as far as spreading the gospel is concerned. And maybe it is. But the UPC still needs to progress a lot more in terms of some of dealing with the racial "issues" that still lie beneath the surface, and been theres for decades.

Too bad that a lot of pastors and preachers dont seem to want to address the issue head on, from the pulpit.

There once was a Pastor K . . . until he disagreed with one of the ministers mentioned here. Once that happened Pastor K was nearly destroyed by that Pastor and left the UPC. I've heard Pastor K's in the process of trying to get re-licensed by the UPC.

RandyWayne - I'd recommend visiting either Endris in Tempe, Bibb in Phoenix, Wylie in Peoria or Goldsberry (independence/non-denom) in Tempe.

My uncle pastored this church until my aunt died a couple of years ago ..... seemed to be a really good church.

I don't think that the exodus of the ultra con faction will produce unity in the UPC.

Today's conservatives will be the ultra cons of the new UPC.

The liberals, who want far more than television advertising, will be emboldened to ask for more.

The removal of the prohibition on television advertising leaves television a non-issue in the UPC; the remaining prohibition against TV is a technicality that I think will be disregarded.

The men who have won this allowance from the ultra cons today will find themselves defending their positions on the traditional standards tomorrow.

The political process is a two edged sword.

This will not end the war of liberation - the struggle has just begun.
Have we a prophet walking in our midst?

Truth! I have talked with a few back home, and they are keeping a 'right' spirit about things.

Wouldn't recommend Hudson's. Wouldn't say it's progressive. Went there a couple years. Some major problems. Most progressive are Endris (Tempe), Rob Bibb (Phx) and I think Wylie is pretty good.
Bro. Hogan is a good Supt. He's conservative - but not hard nose. He's kind.
Every district has it's problems because it's made up of men. AZ is a little more difficult, I'll agree. I've heard more than one say they were going to retire to AZ, but there's too much division in the District. Too bad we can't unite together to win souls instead of bickering on which standards are right.

Pastor K is a friend, much of what you say is true. To bad, he is a tremendous preacher.
