Well obviously the salvation issue didn't cast a "negative cloud" in the UPC as much as it does on this board, where people are under no "agreement" to keep quiet about their differences.

And frankly, all they did was sweep the issue under the rug. Doctrinally, it was like trying to mix oil and water --eventually there will be a separation; evidently, this is a key reason why there have been so many defections and splinters since the merger.

I think a reasonable argument could be made that the merger might not have been such a good idea in the first place. I'm not sure I would state that to be the case, but I could see how a lot of people (on both sides) might think so.

"Despise not the day of small things."

FCF started out very very small. I was one of the first posters -- even before you had to register to post.

Some great discussion there though. Oh me oh my!

We had such a mix back then. And some of the issues that come up over and over again were all being discussed and debated for the first time back then. of course new issues have come along and they've been debated long and hard.

I just miss a number of the people who used to post.

Agreed. I was a little after you. I first found the site in the days after Jim passed. it was a few months before I posted anything. I probably showed up right past the peak of FCF. it was still the hottest place on the www.

What year did Jim die?

I want this place to be a place where all of us PCI and PAJC can meet and discuss all issues. As a Water/Spirit proponent I am not intimidated at all by other beliefs and I think the same can be said for you as a PCI guy.

we ought to be able to talk and "sharpen our iron". In the past, I have spoken out when I felt the PCI view was being held down. In fact, Ive taken heat for doing so, and I have applied heat to admin over that very issue.

now however, it seems that in an effort to allow the debate some on your side (and you in the above post) have crossed a line. It needs to be uncrossed.
This would be amazing to accomplish. I think these forums have been established to this very thing. However...

There has risen a segment that posts louder, longer, more frequently than others that are magnets for tearing down foundations of Apostolic beliefs. One, for an example, being this universal salvation, or all inclusiveness, or just believing or whatever you want ot call it...

Debating the greasy gracers has been fun in the past...but this new (well, not new, but paganism dressed in new high heels and a new miniskirt) heresy makes greasy grace about as greasy as a pork chop left in the grill overnight. When these people change the word of God in their arguments, there is nothing to debate.

No one has forced the more established posters out. They have left of their own accord. It is no longer fun when the spirit of the majority of posters turns into a witch hunt against those who believe strong ethics and holiness standards.

Jekyll, I believe there is a way to regain some balance here. I have faith in the Admin that they are doing just that.

having known Matt for a while here online, I seriously dobut this thread was an after thought.

lets see how this plays out.
