Sorry, she responded before me. But yes, the UPC that I grew up in and still affiliate with embraced and fellowshipped with like believers in the PAW, ALJC and many independents. They are not looked on as not saved or dis-fellowshipped.

I guess I'm too easy, but I would never dis-fellow another Christian. Nor would I condemn them to hell. It's just not my job.

I grew up UPCI from the mid 1960's. We were not allowed to fellowship ALJC churches. There was one a street over from where I lived in Elyria, Ohio. Bro. Kirk was the Pastor. I was told they didn't 'keep the standards'. From what I know of ALJC they keep more of that ultra-conservative 'dress standard' than many UPCI churches.
In regards to this thread. I believe we Apostolics were looked down on because of our many ecentricities and the Pastors began to preach that we were King's Kids and should be proud of our heritage. This boost in self-esteem led to some arrogance on our part, thinking we were better than other denominations, and even better than our own brothers and sisters.
I know at Ohio youth camp the church's reputation was built on the legalistic degree of dress standards and service. This was also the same for JCM days. We girls from Ohio looked down on the girls & guys from Texas and Lousianna because we considered them very loose, and we very holy.
You can disagree but I was there and I was from Ohio and I know what we Ohio girls thought.
Blessings,Rhoni
P.S. It came back to bite me on the butt when I was no longer keeping Ohio girl tradition and ostracisized and thought to be a traitor by a very high profile, 2 very high profile UPCI VIPs.

At one time many UPC churches were led to believe they were the only ones and others were maybe less enlightened...but it is not so today. I have many precious friends that are UPC...
Cards will never save anyone in fact they tend to divide.

Sis Alvear,
This is true. Hoepfully things have changed but when you see what is happening with the group from Tulsa, OK it makes you wonder. I went to school with Dearrah & Steve Buxton, and knew someone who dated Treadus French, and I know the brothers from Indiana...I can't imagine being so conservative that they would throw over the monopoly board and play their own game. It amazes me.
BTW, have you left San Paulo yet? Are you still coming into Houston? Driving or flying? Will you be coming through my area? I know you have some family here. I'd love to see you.
Blessings, Rhoni

This clearly explains our different points of view.

I'll just reiterate my previous post...now, I have known of quite a few ministers who didn't fellowship with this one or that one, but ironically enough it wasn't (normally) because they felt the other group was going to miss heaven. I have my own opinions about some of the reasons, but I'll keep them to myself for now.

They certainly won't save anyone, Sister A. You're right about that!
...
The Catholic church used to execute "heretics", but we cannot say they do that now, even though it is in their history. Likewise, the state of the UPCI today is not the same as its history in many places. Things change, ebb and flow, and adjust.

I also grew up in the UPC. I enjoyed it! I never heard anyone say that the "upc" thinks they were the only saved until I started hanging out with independents. That was when I heard how "bad" the UPCI was! Today, we will fellowship with good men who preach truth and do not compromise. It doesn't matter what their initials are.
