This is wisdom to be heeded by any pastor reading this thread-

If more calls were made to their pastor it would save a lot of trouble ahead.

Keith pastored a couple that went church to church singing everywhere-not one time did he ever get a call about these folks-now they sit in another church and still no phone call. I guess some people just need to learn on their own.

I don't understand how cold calls are accepted or how an evangelist gets enough gumption to make cold calls. A gift makes room for itself. I'm sure there are a lot of street corners that need a Word from the Lord.

An evangelist has to provide for himself and his family. If he has to get a job to make ends meet, he is not making his job his goal in life, he is putting a little bread on the table. Pastors have to work at times. Besides, a few calouses on the hands of an evangelist can add some wisdom to the words they bring.

Dear Sir, (I am guessing you are a sir)

I am probably a little older than you are, and I have always noticed the road of humility will take further than the one that says I've got it all and I know it all don't help me.

One should always remain the student and ever wanting to learn from others. There is never point where we all have arrived to all knowledge and understanding. Every day that we live we can learn something new.

I like what my husband said recently-that is why God gave us 2 ears on 1 mouth we should listen twice as much as we talk.

There have been some very good words of wisdom on this thread I hope you take advantage of what has been said.

Blessing to you!

It seems to me that young ministers, more than others, think they have a lot to say. I know I did, but not to the point that I see in places here.

Well, Joelel... I tell you what. It's obvious from your post that you're just turning the world upside down with your ministry so I'll make a deal with you; You don't need to learn from anything these men are saying and we won't try to push our principles of ministry on you.

There, that should make it better!

Obviously you are pretty set in your way on this so go, my friend, and preach your world to a supernatural experience! I'll just sit here in my little corner of the world and dwell in obscurity, struggling to operate with the feeble ministry God gave me, and hopefully God will find a way to override my lack of experience and eventually use me someday.

Blessings on you, Joelel!

My old pastor used to tell me, "Son, you don't know enough to preach longer than thirty minutes."

My old pastor also used to tell me, "Son, it's what you learn after you know it all that really helps you."

I guess he thought it took more than five minutes for me. I'm not as gifted as some.

Well, I stroll leisurely to the trees rather than chasing them, for the most part.

Are you a coon hunter?
